Asterisk offers an experience that puts patrons back in time. With early 1900s inspired menu and interior, they are not afraid of innovation and starting a new revolution of cultural exploration. They offer refinement in all forms- environment, food, and libations- and promise to bring history into every visit. 

Opened in 2016, Asterisk is a non-traditional American restaurant that serves lunch and dinner accompanied by cocktails and tea. 

The brand reputation is well established, and competition includes Cap City, Cambridge, North Star, and 101 Beer Kitchen. 

The average Asterisk-goer is 21-80 with an emphasis on the millennial age group. They are interested in culture, history, and new experiences with a taste from the past. Supportive of small, local businesses, these people are tired of chain restaurants. 

Asterisk uses a web template, stretched photos, unwanted animation and space fillers, as well as abundance of fonts. 

They do not have standardization for Instagram content that does not fit their moody and historical-looking branding. 

And the company lacks promotional designs centered around local performers and events, although it would benefit them greatly. 

My goal was to apply a personalized touch to the website— keeping elements of the previous template while adding quality photography, the motif of books that relates to the restaurant interior, and a page solely featuring their drinks. 

For the drink Instagram, I aimed to include copy into the imagery, establish a cohesive theme, and feature all drink selections.

With the use of historically inspired imagery, I wanted to create promotional posters that cover different aspects of the company.

These employ historical art inspiration in a modern context for marketing purposes. They uniquely connect with a more cultured audience.

Instagram adheres to the time period theme with warm tone colors, moody light, and the appearance of more than just cocktails.
